What is pelvic floor physical therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy treats a range of symptoms including but not limited to: pelvic pain, leaking urine, abdominal separation, pain, unintentional loss of gas, painful intercourse, painful scars, loss of stool, returning to fitness and sport. This is done by strengthening weakened muscles, stretching tight muscles, and re-training movement and coordination patterns.

What are the BENEFITS of out-of-network physical therapy?

Minimal wait time, personalized care and focus on your goals. There are not many pelvic floor physical therapist; I waited 5 months from referral from my OBGYN to see a pelvic floor physical therapist. We can focus on achieving your goals rather than spend time jumping through insurance hoops.

What are my options for paying for services?

Mobius Movement & Physical Therapy does not contract with any insurance providers, so payment is due day of service. You may use your Health Saving Account (HSA), or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for services deemed medically necessary. If you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance, you can submit your super bill to your insurance for reimbursement. Reimbursement rate can vary and is often 40-80%.

How many sessions do i need?

The number of sessions you need depends on a few factors including: your goals, what is going on and how long it has been happening. At your first visit, you and I will make a plan of how to reach your goals.

do I need a referral?

A referral is helpful, but not required to start. Your referral can be faxed to (206) 430-5067, or provide it at your evaluation.
California allows direct access to physical therapy without a referral for a period of time, 12 visits or 45 days. For treatment beyond 45 days or 12 visits, you will need an in person visit with your doctor and a signed physical therapy plan of care.
